Subsequent investigations revealed that Pizza Hut's "whole-cut steak" was actually a "processed steak" containing multiple ingredients and additives. Although accompanied by explanatory text, the fine print was nearly illegible and difficult to comprehend.

The incident drew widespread attention, prompting entrepreneur Luo Yonghao to comment: "Sigh, businesses can never be entirely honest, and frankly, they face tough times these days. Whether it's original cut, whole cut, or synthetic, perhaps laws should mandate clear labeling."

Yum China officially responded, stating that Pizza Hut's whole-cut processed sirloin steak is made from a single frozen beef sirloin. The product undergoes thawing, trimming, seasoning, freezing, and slicing processes, complying with national standards and domestic food processing regulations.
