Gold-related equities are once again gaining momentum, with shares of 珠峰黄金 (01815) climbing 7.06% to HKD 1.745, 集海黄金 (02489) rising 3.51% to HKD 0.885, 赤峰黄金 (06693) advancing 3.03% to HKD 38.04, and 山东黄金 (01787) increasing 2.4% to HKD 23.02 as of the latest trading session.

Since August, both London gold and New York gold have posted gains of nearly 10% collectively. A recent report from UBS indicates that gold prices could potentially surge to USD 5,000 per ounce by the first half of 2027. The firm suggests that while short-term market conditions remain volatile, multiple long-term supportive factors are strengthening the case for a sustained upward trend in gold prices.

Huatai Securities notes that although geopolitical tensions in the Middle East continue to exert pressure on global liquidity, the uncertainty surrounding the US dollar's intrinsic value has increased following the change in Federal Reserve leadership. Combined with cooling sentiment in the AI hardware chain, the value of gold as a safe-haven asset and long-term investment is once again coming to the forefront. In the short term, attention should be focused on the late August Federal Reserve annual meeting and the September FOMC decision, while the medium-to-long-term outlook for gold's investment value remains positive.

Industrial Securities also highlighted that expectations for US interest rate hikes are declining, easing the macroeconomic pressure on metals, which could lead to stronger price performance. For precious metals, the bottom for gold prices may have already been reached, with the price center likely to gradually rise in the second half of the year.
