Liyang Debuts New Energy Storage Supply-Demand Matching Event to Boost Industrial Collaboration

The first session of Liyang's "Li Qi Hui" supply-demand matching series, focused on the new energy storage industry, was held on the morning of September 12 at Jiangsu Huapeng Transformer Co., Ltd. Li Tao, a member of the Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee, a member of the Party Group of the Municipal Government, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee, and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Liyang High-tech Zone, attended the event.

The event drew procurement, sales, and technical leaders from enterprises across the city's energy storage industry chain, alongside officials from the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, the Economic Development Bureau of Liyang High-tech Zone, and the Municipal Power Supply Company. It was co-hosted by the Management Committee of Liyang High-tech Zone and the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, with organizational support from the Municipal Energy Storage Industry Association and Jiangsu Huapeng Transformer Co., Ltd.

The agenda included policy briefings, industry trend analyses, Q&A sessions, the release of supply-demand information, and dedicated networking opportunities. Zhang Kaichang, Deputy Director of the Research and Development Center and an energy storage industry researcher at the Jiangsu Energy Storage Industry Association, provided insights into the global, national, and Jiangsu provincial energy storage market landscapes. He offered professional recommendations for the sector's development in Liyang. Dr. Cao Yunfeng, an Associate Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University's School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering and Chief Scientist at Shanghai Zhonglv New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a presentation titled "Development Trends of the Energy Storage Industry Under the Evolution of New Power Systems," covering the current state of new power systems, energy storage demand, and core technologies for grid-forming storage.

During the interactive Q&A segment, enterprise representatives posed questions that were met with detailed responses from the attending experts. Discussions spanned energy storage policies, technology applications, and market collaborations, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. Following this, major industry chain players—including Jiangsu Huapeng Transformer Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Infypower Smart Energy Co., Ltd., and Changzhou Xuda New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.—presented their supply and demand requirements and engaged in direct, on-site matching.

To facilitate more convenient and efficient connections beyond face-to-face meetings, the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology has developed the "Li Qi Hui" mini-program. This digital platform applies a shared-economy model to drive resource integration and optimized allocation among industry chain enterprises, and its features were introduced to attendees by bureau representatives during the event.

Organizers emphasized that the energy storage industry represents a vital frontier in the era of energy transformation and a key focus area for Liyang's development. Building on its robust battery manufacturing foundation, Liyang is working to strengthen its energy storage ecosystem by fostering closer ties among upstream and downstream enterprises and creating a two-way bridge between supply and demand. This event exemplifies the strategy of "the government playing matchmaker and enterprises finding mutual benefit," promoting local business collaboration and enabling the collision and alignment of needs in technology and products. The ultimate goal is to jointly seize new opportunities within the energy storage sector.
