Direxion Daily Semiconductors Bull 3x Shares (SOXL) tumbled 5.40% in after-hours trading on Tuesday, giving back a portion of the sharp gains recorded during the regular session.

The leveraged ETF had surged over 11% intraday, fueled by a broad semiconductor sector rebound and record retail inflows, but the after-hours decline reflected concentrated profit-taking as traders locked in short-term gains. Market participants noted that the intraday rally was primarily a technical oversold recovery rather than a resolution of underlying risk factors. Japan's newly implemented export controls on advanced packaging equipment to China, which had triggered a more than 7% plunge in the prior session, continued to weigh on sentiment, prompting caution among investors holding leveraged positions into the close.
