WUXI APPTEC (02359) surged 5.25% in intraday trading on Monday, as a US court ruling alleviated major policy concerns and the company's robust interim results continued to fuel investor optimism.
The rally was triggered by the company's announcement that the US District Court for the District of Columbia had approved a preliminary injunction motion, prohibiting the US Department of Defense from enforcing its prior 1260H designation of the company during judicial proceedings. The decision effectively suspended the impact of the designation, removing a significant overhang on the stock.
The positive sentiment was further supported by WUXI APPTEC's strong first-half performance, released earlier in the month. The company reported a 38.93% year-on-year increase in revenue to RMB 28.9 billion, while adjusted net profit soared 83.2% to RMB 11.57 billion, marking the first time half-year profit exceeded RMB 10 billion. Full-year revenue guidance was also raised to RMB 58.5-60.5 billion. Multiple investment banks subsequently raised their target prices on the stock.
