Apple has initiated legal proceedings against tech blogger Jon Prosser and associate Michael Ramacciotti in California's Northern District Court, alleging theft of confidential trade secrets. The lawsuit centers on Prosser's January video demonstration of iOS 26's redesigned Camera application, followed by March and April exposures revealing the Messages interface and "liquid glass" visual renderings across iOS 26 applications and home screens—designs bearing remarkable similarity to Apple's official release.

The Cupertino-based tech titan contends that Prosser coordinated with Ramacciotti to illicitly obtain an iPhone development prototype and access credentials from former Apple engineer Ethan Lipnik. Prosecutors assert Ramacciotti used FaceTime to display the secured device to Prosser, who subsequently screen-recorded the session and published edited footage. Apple terminated Lipnik's employment following internal investigations.

Seeking immediate judicial intervention, Apple demands permanent injunctions blocking further confidential disclosures and substantial financial restitution for damages. In a swift rebuttal, Prosser publicly rejected allegations of conspiring to infiltrate devices, maintaining ignorance regarding his sources' methodologies. The escalating legal battle spotlights mounting tensions between corporations and independent tech commentators over intellectual property boundaries.
