WANT WANT CHINA Releases FY2025 ESG Report: Carbon Cuts Reach 48,000 Tonnes, Green Power Share Hits 18.2%

WANT WANT CHINA published its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report for the fiscal year ended 31 March 2026, detailing progress against its 2030 sustainability roadmap and introducing updated targets following the inclusion of overseas operations in its reporting scope.

Key environmental metrics • Cumulative carbon emissions have been reduced by 48,000 tonnes since the FY2020 baseline, approaching the 2030 target to trim emissions per unit of product by 90,000 tonnes. • Green electricity accounted for 18.20% of total power consumption in FY2025, already surpassing the 16% target set for 2030. Group-wide photovoltaic capacity totalled 84 MW, generating 84,770 MWh during the year and cutting carbon emissions by roughly 1.59 million tonnes since 2016. • Water-saving initiatives delivered cumulative savings of 660,000 tonnes versus the FY2020 baseline; FY2025 alone contributed 1.16 million tonnes through 122 projects. • Packaging recyclability reached 90%, moving toward the long-term goal of 100% recyclable materials. • The Beijing general factory secured three-star “Zero Waste to Landfill” status, becoming the group’s third plant to earn the highest-level certificate. Overall, 31 plants are certified as Green Factories and four hold zero-carbon factory status.

Investment and compliance • Environmental protection spending totalled RMB25.14 million in FY2025, bringing cumulative spending since 2016 to RMB429.00 million. • No fines or violations related to environmental or occupational safety were recorded over the past three years. All factories achieved 100% signing of safety responsibility statements, and there were no work-related fatalities or occupational disease incidents in the reporting period.

Supply-chain stewardship • The company managed 971 tier-1 suppliers, with on-site audits covering 747 suppliers and a 99.47% rectification rate for 5,727 identified issues. • All palm-oil suppliers hold RSPO certification, and the group’s procurement strategy prioritises FSC-certified paper and biomass-based steam.

Workforce development • WANT WANT CHINA employed 39,998 staff; women represented 52% of the workforce and 37% of management positions. • Labour-contract coverage and special-operator certification both stood at 100%. • Training reached 67,843 attendances, averaging 53 hours per employee; the employee happiness index rose to 90.53 points.

Community impact • Charitable donations totalled RMB33.00 million, benefiting 880,000 people through disaster-relief, elderly care, education support and rural revitalisation programmes.

Forward outlook The group reaffirmed its commitment to align with national dual-carbon goals, retain the 2030 targets for emission cuts, green-power uptake and resource efficiency, and extend its zero-waste and AWS sustainable water-management certifications across additional sites in FY2026.
