Huaneng Power International Inc. (Huaneng Power) has successfully issued its ninth tranche of 2026 mid-term notes—designated “Special Debenture for Energy Supply Assurance”—with a total principal amount of RMB2.50 billion. The notes carry a 2+N-year tenor and an annual coupon rate of 1.67%.
The issuance forms part of the mandate approved at the company’s 2025 annual general meeting, which authorises Huaneng Power to raise up to RMB170.00 billion in domestic and/or overseas debt instruments from 16 June 2025 to the conclusion of the 2026 annual general meeting.
CITIC Securities Company Limited, China Securities Co. Ltd. and Guotai Haitong Securities Co., Ltd. acted as joint lead underwriters, arranging the transaction through a book-building process in China’s interbank bond market. Net proceeds will be applied, on a look-through basis, to repay previously issued special debentures for energy supply assurance.
The transaction does not constitute a notifiable or connected transaction under Chapters 14 or 14A of the Hong Kong Listing Rules.
