The Pando Bitcoin ETF (02818) will commence trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on July 18, marking the first bitcoin exchange-traded fund approved for listing in Hong Kong this year. Managed by Pando Limited, this ETF directly tracks bitcoin's price movements using the CME CF Bitcoin Index (Asia Pacific Closing Price) as its benchmark. Investors can access the fund through existing securities accounts with flexible cash or in-kind subscription and redemption options.
As an asset manager rooted in Web3 and venture capital, Pando holds Type 1, Type 4, and Type 9 licenses from Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission for digital asset management and related services. The firm has cultivated a substantial client base and sophisticated digital financial ecosystem through its sharp analysis of global macroeconomic shifts, digital assets, and capital market dynamics.
Earlier this year on January 15, Pando forged a strategic partnership with Hong Kong virtual asset platform HashKey Exchange. This collaboration includes establishing trading accounts and deepening cooperation across fintech, blockchain education, digital asset trading, and digital transformation initiatives. Pando's existing ETF portfolio includes the actively managed Pando Blockchain Theme ETF (03112) and Pando Innovation Theme ETF (03056), both concentrating investments in leading global innovators and digital asset enterprises.
Simultaneously, Pando Group has filed for a spot bitcoin ETF in the United States. The Hong Kong listing expands the territory's digital asset investment toolkit while offering investors regulated pathways to cryptocurrency market exposure. This development significantly enhances portfolio diversification opportunities within Asia's evolving regulatory landscape.
