Apple Inc.'s senior marketing executive overseeing Apple Watch, AirPods, health initiatives, and smart home projects has announced his retirement, signaling leadership changes across several of the company’s core product lines.

Stan Ng, who spent 31 years at Apple, stated on Thursday that he will be leaving the company. During his tenure, he contributed to the development of the first-generation Apple Watch and led marketing efforts for subsequent iterations of the device as well as other well-known accessories.

Ng first gained prominence at Apple by helping launch the original iPod and later served as a key marketing leader for the product line. He also appeared in launch videos for several high-profile products, including the iPod touch in 2007. In a LinkedIn post, Ng wrote, "After 31 years at Apple, today is my last day. It has been a privilege to work at Apple, and I have loved every minute of what I’ve done."

Ng joined Apple in 1995 as a systems engineer, prior to Steve Jobs' return to the company.

Apple’s most recent stock vesting date was Wednesday, a period around which many retiring or departing employees choose to leave.

According to a Sunday media report, John Giannandrea, Apple’s longtime head of artificial intelligence, is also set to depart.

Apple has not commented on Ng’s departure.
