The final pricing for BYD Company Limited's new Tang EV has been officially announced. The vehicle, which launched on June 17th, is offered in four configurations with a price range spanning from 239,900 to 309,900 yuan.

As the new flagship model under the BYD Dynasty network, the Tang is positioned as a full-size SUV featuring a seven-seat layout. It is equipped with second-generation Blade Battery technology and flash charging capabilities, targeting both family and business use. Reports indicate that pre-orders for the model have already exceeded 150,000 units.

Exterior and Design Features

The Tang adopts BYD's latest design language, featuring a closed-off front grille paired with a star-ring style chrome trim and a Tang logo rendered in small seal script, giving it strong visual identity. The daytime running lights connect to a central decorative panel, while the front bumper houses split-type LED headlights and vertical air guides on either side, adding a sporty touch. The vehicle is available in five single-tone colors and three dual-tone color schemes.

Its profile features new semi-hidden door handles and multi-spoke alloy wheels. With dimensions of 5263mm in length, 1999mm in width, 1790mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3130mm, it firmly sits in the large SUV category. The rear retains the Dynasty family's classic full-width taillight design with an illuminated BYD logo at the center.

Luxurious Interior and Seating

The interior emphasizes luxury with wood-grain accents on the dashboard and a new steering wheel design. A triple-screen setup consists of a full digital instrument cluster, a floating central touchscreen, and a front passenger entertainment display, complemented by a head-up display. The center console includes a wireless charging pad, physical shortcut buttons, and wood-finished cup holders. Notably, the vehicle features electronic door release buttons instead of traditional handles.

The 2+2+3 seven-seat configuration includes dual zero-gravity front seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions. The second-row features dual independent zero-pressure seats that can recline up to 146 degrees, with integrated leg rests, diamond quilting, and a one-touch lie-flat function. This row also gets a large folding screen, a foldable table, and a refrigerator. The third-row seats are electrically adjustable and include heating. The cabin is further enhanced with power-operated doors with soft-close function, automatic retractable steps, and welcome lighting.

The model also introduces BYD's "Smart Button," a magnetic control that allows for one-touch vehicle operation and seamless device connectivity.

Advanced Driver Assistance and Chassis

For assisted driving, the Tang is equipped with the DiPilot 5.0 system, enabling full-scenario obstacle avoidance and U-turn capabilities. It is designed for smooth and responsive performance in urban traffic, on highways, and on narrow roads.

The chassis is fitted with the DiSus-A intelligent body control system with dual-chamber air suspension, allowing for 100mm of height adjustment and two-stage stiffness tuning to improve ride comfort. The system also includes a road preview function for precise detection of various road conditions and small obstacles. Additionally, rear-wheel steering with a maximum angle of ±7 degrees reduces the turning radius to just 5.2 meters and enables a crab-walking mode, while also enhancing stability during high-speed lane changes.

Powertrain and Performance Specifications

The Tang EV is available in both single-motor and dual-motor variants, powered by the second-generation Blade Battery with flash charging. The single-motor versions offer maximum power outputs of 300kW and 370kW, paired with 105.79kWh and 130.15kWh battery packs, delivering CLTC-rated ranges of 800km and 950km, respectively. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive model delivers 585kW of power from a 130.15kWh battery, achieves a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds, and has a CLTC range of 850km. A plug-in hybrid version is also planned for future release.

Strategic Positioning and Market Competition

As the full-size flagship SUV for the Dynasty series, the Tang fills a gap in BYD's product lineup in the 300,000-yuan price segment. It forms a clear and differentiated product matrix alongside the Denza and Yangwang series. In terms of product positioning, the Tang is set to be BYD's largest SUV and is expected to compete with other large electric SUVs in the market.
