DNV has concluded an independent technical review of the Fred Olsen 1848 company's BRIZO floating solar system, providing crucial support for the technology's progression in project development, financing discussions, and future commercial rollout.

The BRIZO floating photovoltaic system utilizes a flexible rope net and tension system, engineered to operate in inland, coastal, and nearshore environments. This design enables it to withstand more challenging wave conditions compared to conventional floating solar setups.

DNV stated that its review encompassed the system's design methodology, hydrodynamic load assessments from physical model testing, structural behavior, and testing procedures. The assessment leveraged knowledge accumulated during the development of its ST-E309, ST-C108, and RP-0584 standards.

The company indicated that this evaluation establishes an independent technical foundation for the technology's advancement towards commercial deployment.
