The Ministry of Natural Resources has initiated a Level III emergency response for geological disaster prevention and control in Gansu Province.

This action follows a significant landslide that occurred in a forested area of Dangchang County, Longnan City, Gansu Province, on July 7th, resulting in multiple individuals being trapped.

Acting in accordance with the Ministry's established work plan for geological disaster prevention and control responses, the Level III response was officially activated at 9:00 AM on July 7th.

In response to the incident, the Ministry has dispatched a working group to the site to provide on-the-ground guidance for emergency rescue and relief operations.

The Ministry has directed the Gansu Provincial Department of Natural Resources to immediately send a team of technical experts to the location.

This team is tasked with assisting local authorities in search and rescue efforts and providing critical technical support during the emergency response phase.

Furthermore, the provincial department has been instructed to conduct comprehensive inspections, monitoring, and early warning for similar geological hazards in the region to prevent future incidents.

Additional national bodies, including the China Geological Survey and the Ministry's Geological Disaster Technical Guidance Center, have been mobilized.

These organizations are required to enhance expert coordination, organizational planning, and risk assessment to provide robust technical assistance and guidance for the ongoing operations.
