According to Zhitong Finance APP, Zhang Jianzhong, President of the Macau Hotel and Tourism Association, President of the Tourism Development Think Tank, Chairman of the Tourism Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of Macau CTS, stated that the mainland National Day holiday is adjacent to the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, making the holiday period lengthy. It is expected that the average daily visitor arrivals during the National Day Golden Week are likely to surpass last year's level of 143,000. Currently, the overall hotel booking situation in Macau is relatively ideal, with hotel booking rates in the new port area at about 80%, and visitors generally booking for two to three nights.
Zhang Jianzhong said that peak season room rates have been raised, but the increase is reasonable. It is estimated that booking numbers will continue to rise, and the overall occupancy rate may exceed 90%. October 1 to 5 will usher in the peak period, and some hotels may see occupancy rates approaching 100%.
Macau Tourism Bureau Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said in an interview that the Mid-Autumn Festival visitor situation was ideal, and she hopes the effect will extend to the "October 1st" National Day holiday. The authorities have deployed multiple measures to welcome visitors, hoping to achieve the target of an average daily visitor volume of 150,000. The market performance during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday was robust, with inbound visitors on Mid-Autumn Festival day at about 140,000, and the day after Mid-Autumn Festival exceeding 170,000. Good weather boosted visitors' willingness to travel. It is hoped that the Mid-Autumn Festival's momentum can continue into the National Day holiday.
