On the evening of August 19, XPeng Inc. Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng announced during the company's Q2 earnings call that XPeng will begin mass production of vehicles supporting L4 autonomous driving capabilities in 2026, while simultaneously launching pilot Robotaxi operations and services in select regions.

"We observe that there are already many vehicles in the market that support L4 through aftermarket modifications, but there are no vehicles that truly possess L4 computing power, software, and hardware capabilities through original equipment manufacturing for mass production. XPeng will be the first Chinese company to achieve this," He Xiaopeng stated.
