According to reports, Alibaba's AI product Qianwen has achieved a milestone of over 100 million monthly active users (MAU) on the consumer side just two months after its launch, demonstrating particularly rapid growth among student and white-collar user segments. However, Alibaba has not officially responded to these claims as of the time of writing.
The Qianwen App entered public beta in November 2025. Its launch is viewed as a pivotal step in Alibaba's strategic shift from enterprise-focused services to the consumer market, and a core initiative in the company's full-scale push into the AI-to-C consumer market to establish a "future gateway for the AI era."
Wu Jia, President of Alibaba's Intelligent Information Business Group, has positioned this super-app as a "personal AI assistant that can chat and get things done." He emphasized that its core competitiveness lies in its intellectual capability and practical utility, with the ultimate goal of creating an AI assistant that truly understands users and can solve real-world problems for them anytime, anywhere.
