Nikkei Index May Trade in a Range Amid Persistent Iran Conflict and Energy Cost Uncertainties

As uncertainties surrounding the Iran conflict and energy costs persist, the Japanese stock market is expected to trade within a limited range.

Nikkei index futures on the Singapore Exchange opened at 67,120 points, up 260 points from Tuesday and 35 points higher than Monday. Japanese markets were closed on Tuesday for a national holiday.

The U.S. dollar was trading at 159.28 yen, compared to 158.41 yen at the close of Tokyo trading on Monday. Investors are closely monitoring developments in the Middle East and crude oil prices.

The Nikkei index rose 2.1% on Monday to close at 66,970.22 points.
