According to CQRC Bank’s unaudited results for the three months ended 31 March 2026, operating income grew 8.39% year on year (YoY) to RMB 7.83 billion, supported by a 15.08% rise in net interest income to RMB 6.69 billion and a 4.24% increase in net fee and commission income to RMB 0.53 billion.
Net profit reached RMB 4.02 billion, up 5.35% YoY, while basic and diluted earnings per share rose to RMB 0.35. The annualised average return on total assets slipped 4 bps to 0.95%, and the annualised weighted average return on net assets eased 5 bps to 11.91%.
Total assets advanced 6.04% from end-2025 to RMB 1,766.76 billion, driven by loan book expansion and higher investments. Gross loans and advances increased 4.11% to RMB 830.10 billion, comprising RMB 481.84 billion in corporate lending, RMB 292.55 billion in retail lending and RMB 55.71 billion in discounted bills. Financial investments rose 12.32% to RMB 722.95 billion.
Customer deposits expanded 7.70% to RMB 1,107.90 billion, with personal deposits accounting for RMB 936.85 billion. The loan-to-deposit ratio stood at 74.93%.
Asset quality remained stable: the non-performing loan ratio edged down 1 bp from end-2025 to 1.07%, and the provision coverage ratio stood at 365.72%. Credit impairment losses totaled RMB 1.25 billion, representing a YoY rise of 16.21%.
Net interest margin for the quarter was 1.69%, while operating expenses fell, bringing the cost-to-income ratio down 3.07 ppt to 22.40%.
Capital adequacy metrics weakened modestly but remained above regulatory minima. As of 31 March 2026, the group’s core Tier 1 capital adequacy ratio was 12.25%, Tier 1 capital ratio 12.81%, and total capital adequacy ratio 14.00%. The leverage ratio stood at 7.87% versus 8.02% at end-2025.
Liquidity indicators were solid, with a liquidity coverage ratio of 366.17% and net cash generated from operating activities soaring to RMB 86.39 billion, mainly due to lower cash outflows linked to central-bank balances, interbank deposits and trading assets.
Total equity rose 3.53% from end-2025 to RMB 144.66 billion, reflecting retained earnings and valuation gains on debt investments.
