Shoppers were actively tasting samples and inquiring about prices, while the traditional Huapo troupe weaved through the market, bestowing blessings and good fortune upon merchants and visitors alike, adding a festive and cultural atmosphere to the lively scene.

On the main stage, a lineup of performances including song, dance, and traditional folk instrumental music kept the audience entertained with continuous applause and cheers. Meanwhile, the food court was a hive of activity, with long queues forming for complimentary tastings of local delicacies like freshly pressed rice noodles and Huapo porridge. The interactive play area was a crowd-pleaser, featuring a ring-toss game where participants could win fresh produce like fruits, vegetables, and even live chickens and ducks to take home for free. According to reports, the number of vendor booths has more than doubled this year, increasing from 40 to over 80, with a renewed focus on the two signature features of rural tourism integration and immersive market-going. New activities added this year include a dedicated Yongning cultural tourism exhibit, broader food tasting options, the ring-toss game, and the Huapo blessing parade.

The market is organized with dedicated zones for each town, allowing local farmers to participate directly. Beyond signature Yongning geographical indication products like Nalou yam, Baiji sesame duck, and Pumiao shallots, the stalls are brimming with a diverse range of specialty foods, beverages, dried goods, fruits, and vegetables. Looking ahead, the Yongning District is committed to further supporting its agricultural industry through a multi-pronged strategy. This includes pushing forward the construction of standardized planting bases, extending the agricultural product processing chain to boost value-added potential, and integrating smart technology into farming practices.
