On September 30, the closing session of the 21st meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th People's Congress of Sichuan Province was held, where the appointment and dismissal proposal submitted by Provincial Governor Shi Xiaolin to the Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee was voted and approved: Ren Jingdong was decided to be appointed as Deputy Governor of Sichuan Provincial People's Government.

Ren Jingdong is male, of Han ethnicity, born in August 1971, holds a postgraduate degree, and is a member of the Communist Party of China. He currently serves as Deputy Governor and Party Group member of the Sichuan Provincial Government.
