China Longyuan Power Group Focuses on Two Major Giga-Scale Desert Renewable Energy Bases for Power Transmission

China Longyuan Power Group Corporation Limited has stated that it is deeply seizing national energy strategic opportunities, positioning large-scale base projects as a crucial engine for achieving leapfrog development during the 14th and 15th Five-Year Plan periods. The company has established dedicated task forces to fully promote the high-quality implementation of these projects.

Currently, the company is concentrating its superior resources to tackle two strategically significant giga-watt scale desert, Gobi, and wasteland power transmission bases.

The first is the Ningxia Zhongwei Tengger Desert New Energy Base. China Longyuan Power Group Corporation Limited is responsible for developing 8.5 GW of new energy projects. By the end of 2025, the 3 GW Phase I and II photovoltaic projects in Zhongwei have achieved full-capacity operation. Additionally, the 2.5 GW wind power projects in Haiyuan and Shapotou combined have commenced construction in full swing. Concurrently, the company is accelerating the filing and approval process for the 3 GW Phase III photovoltaic project in Zhongwei.

The second is the Gansu Badain Jaran Base. This base has a planned new energy installed capacity of 11 GW, and the company is comprehensively advancing all preliminary work.

The company will actively leverage the integrated advantages of its group, continuously strengthen cooperation with subsidiaries within the group, jointly promote the inclusion of more base projects in national plans, and consolidate its leading position in base development.
