Authorities have confirmed that a new landslide dam is emerging roughly 2.8 kilometers downstream from the existing block on the Pure Puchung River, following a fresh mountain collapse detected late Thursday evening.

In response to the ongoing mudslide disaster in Gyirong County, Shigatse, the Ministry of Emergency Management has deployed reconnaissance and heavy-lift drones from the "Rain Swallow Emergency" member units. These aircraft are continuously monitoring the evolving situation at the newly forming barrier lake, while officials conduct rolling assessments to guide local rescue and relief operations.

After the advanced monitoring drone spotted the new landslide body on August 29, the ministry immediately convened a panel of experts to analyze the risks. As a precautionary measure, all rescue and relief personnel stationed near Gyirong Port have been relocated to safe positions to avoid potential hazards from the unstable terrain.

The ministry stated that it is fully supporting local authorities in coordinating disaster response efforts, with real-time data being shared to ensure timely decision-making. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops, with a continued focus on safeguarding lives and minimizing damage from the secondary geological threat.
