On the morning of February 10, Great Wall Motor Company Limited's new energy MPV vehicles were driven in an orderly manner onto the "Mingui" vehicle carrier ship at Berth 10 of the roll-on/roll-off terminal in Qipanzhou Port Area, Huangshi Port, marking the official start of operations for the new facility.

Berth 10 is located adjacent to Huangshi New Port. After loading vehicles from Great Wall Motor Company Limited, the "Mingui" vessel will transport them via waterway, passing through the five-level ship locks of the Three Gorges Dam, to its next destination, Chongqing.

According to a representative from Great Wall Motor Company Limited's Daye branch, this marks the first time the automaker has used Huangshi's waterways to ship vehicles to other regions. Waterway transport consumes only one-fourth of the energy compared to road transport, making it a significant breakthrough in the distribution of commercial vehicles. This development will better support Great Wall Motor Company Limited's global strategy, enabling vehicles made in Huangshi to reach international markets more quickly.

A representative from Dongchu Investment Group noted that the activation of Berth 10 will effectively link the Yangtze River's golden waterway with the vast central hinterland, significantly improving the efficiency and reliability of multimodal transport for commercial vehicles. This will help automotive companies reduce logistics costs and optimize their supply chain layouts.

Additionally, the new berth will further strengthen Huangshi Port's cargo distribution functions, attracting more logistics resources. It is expected to play a positive role in improving Huangshi's modern logistics system, promoting port-related industrial development, and enhancing the region's economic competitiveness.
