Ribbon Communications (Nasdaq: RBBN) has recently revealed that its optical transmission and data center interconnect (DCI) solutions have been selected by Indonesian internet service provider PT Jala Lintas Media (JLM) to enhance the capacity of its subsea and metropolitan networks linking Indonesia and Singapore.

Given the continuous rise in data traffic between Indonesia and Singapore, JLM required an upgrade to its network infrastructure to deliver services with greater bandwidth and improved reliability. This deployment utilizes Ribbon's Apollo series optical transport platforms, which offer characteristics of high density, low power consumption, and software programmability, effectively boosting the transmission efficiency of the existing fiber infrastructure. Concurrently, Ribbon's DCI solutions will enable JLM to achieve high-speed, low-latency data exchange between multiple data centers, addressing the growing demands of cloud computing and digital services.

JLM is an Indonesian internet service provider established in 2009, with operations spanning major cities including Jakarta, Bogor, Bekasi, and Surabaya. Through this partnership, Ribbon's optical solutions will assist JLM in further expanding its network capacity between Indonesia and Singapore, providing enterprises and individual users in the region with an enhanced network experience. The specific financial terms of the project have not been disclosed.
