This year marks the tenth anniversary of the State Council's approval for the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City to conduct comprehensive reform trials on the utilization and protection of intellectual property.

Over the past decade, the annual total value of intellectual property pledge financing in the Guangzhou Development Zone has surged from 148 million yuan in 2016 to over 15.687 billion yuan by 2025, representing growth of more than 100 times.

In recent years, the Guangzhou Development Zone has continued to deepen the development of its comprehensive IP reform pilot zone, implementing a series of coordinated measures focused on cultivating and commercializing high-value patents.

Currently, the zone holds over 50,000 valid invention patents, with the number of high-value invention patents per 10,000 people reaching 191.

The zone has established the "Huangpu IP Transformation Camp" platform and formed the nation's first team of patent utilization and conversion managers. This initiative connects research institutions with market demands, revitalizing dormant patent resources and facilitating their connection with capital.

By leveraging policy guidance, platform construction, and resource aggregation, the Guangzhou Development Zone has fostered an ecosystem for IP pledge financing characterized by "government guidance, bank support, institutional participation, and enterprise benefit."

This approach transforms intellectual property from mere "paper certificates" into tangible financial assets, and from legally defined "intangible assets" into "innovation capital" that fuels enterprise development.
