The company has confirmed its full-year adjusted earnings per share guidance in the range of $1.75 to $1.79, and reiterated its annual earnings per share growth target of 8%.

Capital Plan Expansion

On the capital investment front, CenterPoint Energy has increased its 2025-2030 capital plan by $3 billion, bringing the total to $46 billion. Capital expenditure for 2026 is projected to be approximately $7.2 billion. As of June 30, the company's trailing twelve-month capital investment total was around $4.6 billion. Regarding its capital structure, the company held long-term debt of approximately $26.5 billion at the end of the quarter.

Operational Performance and Outlook

The company's electric business benefited from customer growth and increased load, while its natural gas operations were supported by infrastructure investment recovery. CenterPoint Energy has reaffirmed its expectation for 8% earnings per share growth in 2027 and over the long term. The company believes it remains well-positioned to consistently achieve earnings per share growth of 8% to 10%, while maintaining a dividend growth rate within its target range of 7%.

During the earnings call, management emphasized that it will enhance customer value through targeted capital deployment and operational improvements, while maintaining its "lean" operating model. The company plans to submit a new rate adjustment application to the Texas Public Utility Commission in the second quarter of 2026 to recover new investments. Additionally, CenterPoint Energy stated that recent broad market volatility has not had a material impact on its financing capabilities or project execution. Since the beginning of the year, the company has successfully raised approximately $4.5 billion in financing, with funding costs generally in line with expectations. At the end of the quarter, the company held about $1 billion in cash, providing a cushion for short-term liquidity.
