Cathie Wood's Ark Investment Management executed a series of trades on Wednesday involving SpaceX, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC), Amazon, and Alphabet. These moves came at a time of significant catalysts for the companies: SpaceX faces a high volume of short bets, TSMC is under pressure from sector rotation, and Amazon is approaching its earnings report window.

Ark continued to increase its position in SpaceX, purchasing shares through four of its funds: the ARK Innovation ETF, the ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF (ARKQ), the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW), and the ARK Space Exploration & Innovation ETF (ARKX). Based on a closing price of $112.55, the transaction was valued at approximately $14.5 million. This accumulation comes amid a backdrop of rising short interest. Reports indicate that short bets against SpaceX have reached roughly $26 billion, with about 35% of its float sold short, making it one of the most heavily shorted positions in the market. On Tuesday, Wood had already purchased $12.2 million worth of SpaceX stock. Ark has been consistently buying the dip since SpaceX's shares began correcting from their post-IPO highs.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co was another key target for accumulation, with multiple funds including ARKK, ARKQ, ARKW, and ARKX making purchases. The total value of the added stake was $20.1 million. TSMC's U.S.-listed shares (TSM) closed at $374.67 on the day.

Amazon was one of the main holdings reduced by Ark on Wednesday, with the ARKK fund selling 4,902 shares. Based on the stock's closing price of $226.65, the transaction was worth $1.1 million. This reduction occurred as investors began to await Amazon's quarterly earnings report. Amazon continues to be viewed as a critical player in cloud computing, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence spending.

Ark also trimmed its position in Alphabet, the parent company of Google. The ARKK fund sold 3,344 Class A shares, with the transaction valued at $1.1 million. The stock closed at $336.71 on the day. This move aligns with Ark's established strategy of reducing holdings in large-cap internet platforms and reallocating capital toward other portfolio positions more focused on frontier innovation.
