Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing is set to build a new advanced fab complex in the Longtan area, according to unnamed supply chain sources cited in local media reports.
The expansion is expected to focus on process technologies of 1.4 nanometers and below, with preliminary plans calling for the construction of three fabs at the site.
The first fab is targeted to come online around 2030 and enter mass production preparation phase. Total investment for the project is projected to exceed NT$1 trillion, equivalent to approximately $31.4 billion.
