According to industry sources, the price of 3-5-year-old cynomolgus monkeys has climbed to RMB 140,000 per animal, with demand outstripping supply this year. JOINN is the world's largest supplier of lab monkeys.

Ping An Securities estimates annual lab monkey supply at 49,000–52,400 from 2025–2027, while demand is projected at 51,300–62,600. The bank attributes the widening supply-demand gap to rebounding drug R&D activity driving higher usage, coupled with limited short-term supply improvements.
