At the 30th Midea Technology Month and 3rd Visionaries Conference held today, Shang Zhe, General Manager of Midea Group's Whole-Home Smart division, shared the company's smart home strategy. When asked by reporters whether Midea's smart home system could integrate with competing products like Gree Electric Appliances and Haier Smart Home, Shang Zhe responded: "I believe anything is possible."

Shang Zhe revealed that Midea has already begun discussions with other manufacturers on this matter. He noted that while the Matter smart home interoperability standard led by Apple, Google, and Amazon is developing rapidly overseas, the domestic market faces unique challenges in smart home connectivity due to varying development stages and diverse needs.

The executive disclosed that China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is currently leading an initiative to establish a domestic smart home interoperability protocol. Midea has joined this alliance, which also includes manufacturers like Haier and Hisense, with intensive development work underway since this summer.

"Although implementation may take some time given the scale of the companies involved, I believe this represents the future trend and will eventually materialize," Shang Zhe stated regarding the prospects of cross-brand smart home integration in China.
