SanDisk Corp. (SNDK) shares tumbled 9.18% over the past 24 hours, as investors reacted sharply to the memory maker's weaker-than-expected revenue outlook for the upcoming quarter. The sell-off extended through the post-market and overnight sessions despite the company delivering fiscal fourth-quarter results that handily surpassed Wall Street expectations.

SanDisk reported Q4 adjusted earnings of $39.25 per share on revenue of $8.97 billion, both comfortably beating analyst consensus estimates. Data center revenue more than doubled sequentially to $2.98 billion, fueled by robust AI infrastructure demand. However, the company guided first-quarter revenue to a range of $10.3 billion to $10.8 billion, with the midpoint of $10.55 billion falling short of the $10.82 billion consensus. The outlook for adjusted earnings per share, projected at $44 to $46, also came in roughly in line with or slightly below elevated market expectations.

The decline highlights growing investor anxiety that even stellar past performance cannot offset a cautious near-term forecast, particularly for a stock that had surged over 400% in the past year. Despite the company's announcement of a $14 billion expansion of its share buyback program, the disappointing guidance dominated sentiment and drove the sharp post-earnings plunge.
