On September 15, the Development and Reform Commission of Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, released a public notice regarding the proposed cancellation of a guaranteed grid-connected wind power project from 2022. This move aims to foster the orderly growth of renewable energy across the city, streamline resource allocation, and create capacity for new renewable projects slated for the "15th Five-Year Plan" period.

Based on assessments and reports from various counties and districts, the commission has put forward the cancellation of the Sany Jingbian 100MW Wind Power Project. This initiative, which is a 100MW venture in Jingbian County, Yulin City, is being scrapped because construction did not commence within the validity period of its approval certificate, as reported by Wind Headlines.

Where the process stands

The public comment period for the proposed cancellation runs from September 15 to September 20, 2026. Stakeholders who hold differing views on the proposed cancellation are encouraged to submit their feedback during this window through channels such as phone, fax, email, or postal mail, with mail considered by postmark date. All feedback must be factual and truthful, and any submissions from organizations need to be stamped with the official company seal, while individual submissions must include a signature and valid contact details. This step is part of the broader effort to phase out non-performing projects and secure development space for renewable energy initiatives in the coming years.
