Beijing CBD has secured the sixth spot globally, second in Asia, and first in China in the *2025 Global Business District Attractiveness Report*, with its green transformation gaining international recognition. At its core, SINO-OCEAN GP's Z6 project—China's first net-zero carbon-certified skyscraper—exemplifies the shift toward sustainable, human-centric commercial spaces through systematic low-carbon practices and innovative design.

The joint report by EY and the Urban Land Institute (ULI) highlights Beijing CBD's commitment to green development as a key factor in its global ranking. Meanwhile, the Chaoyang District is accelerating efforts to establish an ESG-driven model zone, with Beijing CBD aiming to become China's first "zero-carbon business district."

SINO-OCEAN GP's Z6 project, located in the heart of Beijing CBD, stands as a pioneering example of this vision. It is the country's first ultra-high-rise office building to achieve the "Net-Zero Carbon Excellence Certification," alongside pre-certifications for China's Three-Star Green Building, LEED Platinum, and WELL interim certification.

According to Wei Dong, Chief Policy Analyst at Cushman & Wakefield, future business districts must prioritize sustainability, balance, and intelligence. Yu Yan, EY Greater China Advisory Partner, also emphasized sustainability as a critical global trend.

In response, the Z6 project integrates net-zero carbon design with human-centric features. Overlooking CBD Central Park, it features a five-story atrium with ecological landscapes, a natural dome, and multifunctional social spaces. Technologically, it incorporates rooftop solar panels, high-efficiency energy systems, smart lighting, and regenerative elevators, supported by green power trading to achieve full lifecycle carbon neutrality.

As Beijing CBD evolves toward greater sustainability and intelligence, projects like Z6 demonstrate how architecture can redefine the future of business districts through innovation and eco-conscious design.
