Qin Jing, Vice President of Trip.com Group Limited, addressed the 2025 China Enterprise Sustainable Development Action Conference, highlighting challenges facing the tourism sector. She noted that while tourism industry supply has continued expanding over the past two years, demand has not kept pace with this growth, resulting in intensified competition within the sector.

To address these competitive pressures, Qin emphasized that the most efficient approach involves expanding the domestic tourism market's overall capacity. She identified attracting additional consumers as the fastest method to achieve this expansion, particularly through enhanced development of inbound tourism services.

According to Qin, strengthening inbound tourism initiatives represents the most direct path to introducing new consumer segments into the domestic market, thereby creating additional growth opportunities and alleviating competitive tensions within the industry.
