According to statistics released on October 8 by the Ningbo Airport Border Inspection Station, total inbound and outbound passenger traffic at the airport during this year's National Day holiday reached nearly 20,000 trips, up 34.25% from the same period last month, with an average daily volume of about 2,700 trips.

Among the figures, inbound passenger flow showed notable growth. Data shows that the top three countries for local inbound foreign travelers were South Korea, the United States, and Australia.

With the implementation of various visa-free policies, travelers coming to China from Europe, Indonesia, Singapore, and South Korea have been increasing.

Passenger flow was mainly composed of inbound travelers returning home and outbound travelers heading to Hong Kong and Macao in China as well as destinations such as Jeju in South Korea and Bangkok in Thailand, making the port's two-way passenger source structure more diversified.

At present, Ningbo Airport Customs is using an "advance machine inspection" model to complete non-intrusive screening of checked baggage before passengers collect their luggage, allowing compliant bags to be picked up and taken away immediately and effectively reducing passenger waiting time.

"The tax refund process was very fast. Since I was not selected for inspection, I did not have to take out the goods I had already put in my suitcase," said FRLEADI PENGKUH, a traveler from Indonesia.

A person in charge at Ningbo Airport Customs said that a chain from faster customs clearance to higher-quality consumption is accelerating its formation at Ningbo's airport: as the passenger experience improves, spending stays, and the port's function is quietly extending from a "corridor economy" to "landing consumption."
