Kanzhun Limited Issues Special Announcement on Combating Recruitment Fraud

On April 9, Kanzhun Limited announced it has further strengthened its capabilities to tackle fraudulent recruitment activities at their source, building upon its routine governance efforts. The company released a special notice detailing its actions against illicit practices in the job market.

According to the announcement, in March of this year, Kanzhun Limited banned approximately 13,000 accounts involved in fake recruitment and fraudulent引流 through measures such as tracing the upstream sources of these activities and upgrading its AI-powered risk control strategies. Notably, around 90% of these accounts were proactively intercepted by the AI system before job seekers had even reported them.

The special notice highlighted several typical cases of scams in the recruitment market where job seekers are lured into tasks like brushing online store ratings. Two types of deceptive schemes were identified as particularly misleading.

The first scheme involves using small monetary incentives to break down job seekers' defenses. Scammers often attract applicants with low-barrier, high-paying positions such as "e-commerce customer service" or "search and review roles," then redirect them to communicate via WeChat. Instead of immediately asking for money, the scammers initially assign simple tasks like liking social media posts and pay out small commissions as promised to build trust. Once trust is established, they lure job seekers into downloading unfamiliar apps under the guise of "limited-time high-yield opportunities," eventually encouraging them to advance funds within a closed software environment before disappearing with the money.

The second scheme preys on job seekers' urgency to secure employment by offering seemingly attractive "surprise job offers." Fraudulent groups use common job titles like "clerk" or "administrative assistant" to attract applicants and collect their resumes, which are then sold to downstream scam operations. These groups subsequently send out fake offer emails to the applicants.

To stay updated on the latest tactics and characteristics of these illicit activities, Kanzhun Limited's security team has established a dedicated "intelligence unit." Team members infiltrate upstream sources of fraudulent operations to gather off-platform clues related to such activities and take timely action.

In addition to enhancing technical governance, the platform is actively cooperating with police to crack down on offline fraudulent groups. In the first quarter of this year, Kanzhun Limited strengthened its collaboration with law enforcement agencies, providing 43 verified leads related to criminal activities. These efforts have assisted police in apprehending 210 suspects and dismantling 13 criminal organizations.
