New Companies in Humanoid Robot Sector Reach 116,000 in First Half of This Year

Data released by the State Administration for Market Regulation on August 8 shows that in the first half of 2026, new enterprises in emerging industries and new tracks continued to gain momentum, with 116,000 new companies established in the humanoid robot sector, representing a year-on-year increase of 9.5%. The service sector demonstrated notable operational highlights, while manufacturing enterprises accelerated their transformation, leading to a vibrant landscape of industrial development.

New enterprises in emerging industries and new tracks continued to drive growth. In the first half of the year, 561,000 new companies were established nationwide in the "eight major emerging industries plus nine future industries," maintaining a steady growth trend. Some frontier fields experienced explosive growth, with 55,000 new companies in the generative artificial intelligence sector, up 28.0% year-on-year. The humanoid robot sector saw 116,000 new enterprises, growing 9.5% compared to the same period last year.

The service sector showed outstanding operational highlights. A total of 3.957 million new service enterprises were established, roughly flat with the same period last year. Traditional trading companies remained stable with slight growth, as the wholesale and retail sectors added 1.737 million new enterprises, up 2.9% year-on-year. New consumption formats demonstrated strong vitality, with 31,000 new enterprises established in the "silver economy" industry, an increase of 16.0%. The cultural tourism sector added 1.475 million new enterprises, maintaining a rapid growth trajectory. The number of "famous, special, excellent, and new" individual businesses reached 184,000.

High-tech services accelerated their expansion. The information transmission and software technology services sector added 322,000 new enterprises, rising 3.3% year-on-year. The inspection and testing services sector saw 16,000 new enterprises, a surge of 43.9%. The technology achievement transformation services sector added 459,000 new enterprises, an increase of 6.8%.

Manufacturing enterprises accelerated their transformation and upgrading. The equipment manufacturing sector moved toward high-end production, with 28,000 new enterprises in high-end equipment manufacturing, up 2.5% year-on-year. Within this, smart equipment manufacturing grew by 6.4%, and urban rail equipment manufacturing increased by 4.4%. High-tech manufacturing exhibited strong growth momentum, with the total number of high-tech manufacturing enterprises reaching 330,000 by the end of June, including 15,000 new ones in the first half. Among these, the spacecraft and launch vehicle manufacturing sector saw a 185.7% year-on-year increase in new enterprises, the optical fiber and cable manufacturing sector grew by 129.4%, and the integrated circuit manufacturing sector rose by 24.2%.
