CHINA POWER (02380) rose over 5% in afternoon trading. As of the time of writing, the stock was up 5.04% to HK$3.75, with a turnover of HK$1.79 billion. According to the latest data from China Southern Power Grid, as of the end of May, the power load across the entire grid and in the five provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Hainan has reached new highs. This phenomenon breaks the seasonal pattern where annual peaks typically occur in June and July. Everbright Securities believes that the dual themes of computing power demand and the El Niño phenomenon continue to act as catalysts, presenting a phased opportunity for the thermal power sector. Huatai Securities previously noted that CHINA POWER's final dividend for 2025 is RMB 0.168 per share, representing a dividend yield of 5.8%. The payout ratio, calculated based on profit attributable to ordinary shareholders, increased by 11 percentage points year-on-year to 71%, demonstrating a strong focus on shareholder returns. The firm remains optimistic about the long-term value enhancement of the company's hydropower segment through its red-chip controlled A-share entity (SDIC Hydropower) and maintains a "Buy" rating.
