On November 26, Commerce Minister Wang Wentao held a video meeting with German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Reiche. The two sides exchanged candid views on issues including Nexperia.
Wang noted that the Dutch government’s voluntary suspension of administrative orders was a small step toward properly resolving the Nexperia issue. However, as the Dutch side has not lifted improper administrative and judicial interventions against the company, the global semiconductor supply chain remains highly fragile, with the root causes of disruption and instability still present. The Dutch side should demonstrate sincerity and take concrete actions as soon as possible to propose constructive solutions that fundamentally address all parties' concerns and create conditions for restoring stability and smooth operation of the global semiconductor supply chain.
Both sides agreed that companies should play the leading role in resolving the Nexperia issue. Nexperia Netherlands and Nexperia China should promptly engage in constructive communication to address internal disputes and identify effective long-term solutions.
