BYD Company Limited reported May 2026 production of 0.38 million new-energy vehicles (NEVs), an 8.79% increase from May 2025. Monthly NEV sales were broadly unchanged year on year at 0.38 million units (383,453 units versus 382,476 units in May 2025).

Year to date, BYD has produced 1.41 million NEVs and sold 1.41 million, representing year-on-year declines of 21.27% and 20.32%, respectively.

Passenger vehicles remained the core of output, accounting for 374,919 units in May. Within this segment: • Battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) contributed 198,674 units, bringing the five-month total to 0.67 million units, down 18.43% year on year. • Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) added 178,316 units in the month and 0.71 million units year to date, a 22.31% decline from the prior-year period.

Commercial-vehicle production fell 22.02% year on year to 5,630 units in May, while sales rose 16.55% to 6,463 units. Bus deliveries reached 345 units in the month, up 14.05% on a year-to-date basis.

International expansion continued, with May NEV exports totaling 0.16 million units.
