Cornerstone Total Return Fund (CRF) announced on Monday that it will pay a monthly dividend of $0.1176 per share to shareholders of record on May 29, with the ex-dividend date set for May 15.

This distribution is part of the closed-end fund's regular monthly dividend policy. According to the company's previously disclosed plan, CRF's monthly dividend has been slightly increased from $0.1168 in the fourth quarter of last year to $0.1176 and will be maintained at this level at least through the first three quarters of 2026.

Based on the current share price, CRF's annualized dividend yield is approximately 19.65%. As a closed-end management investment company, CRF's investment objective is to seek capital appreciation while also providing current income. Its portfolio primarily includes equity securities of large-, mid-, and small-cap companies, encompassing common stocks, preferred stocks, and convertible securities, among others.

It is noteworthy that the fund's dividend distributions are not entirely derived from investment income or realized capital gains. According to the company's disclosures, under the current economic environment, a portion of the monthly dividends in 2026 is expected to include a "return of capital" component. The board believes that through stable and high-frequency monthly distributions, it can provide shareholders with better liquidity and portfolio management flexibility.
