Sinopec Corp. Adds HKD 23.79 Million to Ongoing H-Share Buyback, Outstanding Share Count Unchanged

China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec Corp.) reported no change in its issued H-share capital on 25 September 2026, keeping the total at 23.68 billion shares. However, the company intensified its share buyback programme, acquiring 5.38 million H-shares on 25 September via on-market purchases at prices between HKD 4.41 and HKD 4.47. The transaction cost HKD 23.79 million, implying an average price of roughly HKD 4.43 per share.

Including repurchases from 21–24 September, Sinopec has bought back 26.98 million H-shares that are pending cancellation. The cumulative outlay for these five sessions is estimated at HKD 120.03 million, translating into a volume-weighted average price of about HKD 4.45 per share. The combined repurchases represent 0.114 % of the 23.68 billion H-shares currently in issue.

All buybacks were executed under the general mandate approved on 13 May 2026, which authorises the company to repurchase up to 2.38 billion shares. To date, Sinopec has utilised 133.76 million shares, or 0.111 % of the 120.93 billion total shares outstanding on the mandate date, leaving significant headroom before reaching the 10 % limit stipulated by Hong Kong listing rules.

Under Main Board Rule 10.06(3)(a), Sinopec is subject to a 30-day moratorium on new share issues or sales of treasury shares until 25 October 2026.
