Gaming stocks continued their upward trajectory on Tuesday, with MELCO INT'L DEV (00200) rising 4.13% to HKD 3.53, MGM CHINA (02282) gaining 3.92% to HKD 10.88, SANDS CHINA LTD (01928) climbing 4.01% to HKD 14.54, and GALAXY ENT (00027) advancing 3.8% to HKD 32.82.

According to the latest data released by the Macau Statistics and Census Service, Macau welcomed 20.944 million visitors in the first half of 2026, representing a 9% year-on-year increase. Zhang Jianzhong, president of the Macau Hoteliers and Innkeepers Association, stated in an interview that thanks to multiple favorable policies from the central government, visitor arrivals continue to show strong growth momentum. During the July-August summer holiday period, overall hotel occupancy is expected to reach 90%. Family and parent-child tourists account for a significant proportion, with travel times relatively concentrated, and August is anticipated to be the peak occupancy month.

HSBC issued a research report noting that with the conclusion of the World Cup, the bank expects summer tourist volumes to rebound. Combined with Macau's ongoing non-gaming events, gaming revenue is projected to improve gradually on a month-on-month basis. If the average daily gaming revenue for the remainder of this month remains between MOP 670 million and MOP 740 million, total gaming revenue for July could reach between MOP 20.1 billion and MOP 20.9 billion. This would imply a year-on-year decline of 5% to 9%, a significant improvement compared to the 12% drop recorded in June.
