First Shanghai Investments Ltd (HKEX: 00227) has announced its interim results for the 2026 fiscal year, revealing a turnover of approximately HK$197 million, marking a 2.62% increase from the corresponding period last year. The company recorded a loss attributable to shareholders of HK$6.814 million, a sharp reversal from the profit reported in the same period a year earlier, with a loss per share of 0.31 HK cents.
According to the company's announcement, the decline in performance primarily stems from the recognition of an unrealized fair value loss on a financial asset, coupled with reduced revenue and profit margins in its hotel operations. The latter was attributed to weak leisure and business travel demand in the Wuxi region, which weighed on the segment's overall contribution.
