Hong Kong stock market opened lower on Monday. The Hang Seng Index (HSI) fell by 0.16%, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) dipped by 0.09%, the Hang Seng Tech Index (HSTECH) declined by 0.15%.
CNNC INT’L up 15%; NIO up 4.6%; CGN Mining up 4.3%; Tencent, Meituan opened flat; Alibaba down 0.7%; Baidu down 1.3%.
In terms of sector performance, the paper industry stocks showed moderate gains. ND PAPER rose by 1.17%, and LEE & MAN PAPER increased by 1.27%. Meanwhile, Chinese brokerage stocks also saw notable movements, with DFZQ climbing 3.63%, SWHY advancing 3.28%, and EB SECURITIES gaining 2.06%.
Among individual stocks, CHI SILVER GP led the market with a significant surge of 12.24%, reflecting strong investor interest. BOCOM INTL also performed impressively, rising by 7.14%. Additionally, PUXING ENERGY gained 7.10%, and JF SMARTINVEST increased by 6.82%, marking them as key outperformers in the early trading session.
