Chairwoman Gigi Lai Presides Over Annual General Meeting of Listed Beauty Firm

Hong Kong-listed beauty services company MIRICOR (HK: 01827) held its annual general meeting last Friday, September 18, with former TVB actress Gigi Lai (also known by her corporate name Lai Ka Yee) personally chairing the proceedings in her capacity as board chairwoman and chief executive officer.

According to the company's latest annual report disclosed on July 23, Gigi Lai's professional background is detailed as follows: Lai Ka Yee (formerly known as Gigi Lai), aged 54, serves as executive director, board chairwoman, and chief executive officer. She also holds the positions of chair of the nomination committee and a member of the remuneration committee, overseeing the group's overall management, branding, strategic planning, marketing, and business development initiatives.

Lai Ka Yee joined the group in July 2009, was appointed as a director on July 6, 2016, and was subsequently redesignated as an executive director and appointed as board chairwoman and chief executive officer on December 19, 2016. She also serves as a director for several subsidiaries within the group. Prior to establishing the company, Lai Ka Yee was active in the film and television entertainment industry from 1985 to 2008. She retired from acting at the end of 2008 and has since devoted her full efforts to developing her business in the medical aesthetics services sector.

Based on shareholding disclosures, Gigi Lai currently holds a 68.75% stake in the company. MIRICOR was initially listed on the Growth Enterprise Market of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on January 10, 2017, under the then-ticker code 08358.HK, before transferring to the Main Board on February 18, 2019. As of Monday's market close, September 21, the company's total market capitalization stood at approximately HKD 384 million.
