Prudential plc announced on May, 18 2026 that it cancelled 257,617 ordinary shares on May, 15 2026, following a repurchase completed on May, 13 2026.
On the same day, May, 15 2026, the insurer also repurchased another 257,433 ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange. These shares are scheduled for cancellation.
After the latest cancellation, Prudential’s issued share capital fell to 2,523,699,305 ordinary shares. Two blocks of shares, totalling 515,279, remain to be cancelled: 257,846 shares repurchased on May, 14 2026 and the 257,433 shares bought back on May, 15 2026.
Since receiving shareholder approval on May, 14 2025, Prudential has repurchased 88,986,091 shares, representing approximately 3.42 per cent of the shares outstanding on the mandate date. The current buy-back mandate permits the company to repurchase up to 262,668,701 shares, with a moratorium on new share issues or treasury share sales in place until June, 14 2026.
