Argentine power generation company YPF Energia Electrica, which was spun out from state-controlled energy firm YPF SA, has submitted a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering.

The company is aiming to raise approximately $300 million through the IPO, with plans to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "YLUZ". Specific pricing terms for the offering have not yet been disclosed.

Operating a portfolio of 17 power plants across Argentina, YPF Energia Electrica reported a total installed capacity of 3,764 megawatts as of March 2026. This represents 8.2% of the total capacity within Argentina's National Interconnected Power System.

Over the twelve months ending March 31, 2026, the company generated 15.0 terawatt-hours of electricity, accounting for 9.9% of the total electricity supplied through the national grid.

The company's generation assets comprise 2,740 MW of thermal power capacity and 1,024 MW of renewable energy capacity, representing 73% and 27% of its total installed capacity, respectively.

As of March 2026, the company ranks as Argentina's third-largest thermal power generator and second-largest renewable energy generator by installed capacity. The same rankings apply based on electricity generated over the prior twelve-month period.

YPF Energia Electrica's thermal capacity constituted 10.8% of the national system's total thermal capacity as of March 2026, and it contributed 15.0% of the system's thermal power generation over the past year.

Its renewable energy capacity accounted for 11.7% of the national system's total renewable capacity as of March 2026, and it was responsible for 10.3% of the system's renewable power generation over the same twelve-month period.
