LIGENT (09856) rose nearly 6% in the afternoon session today, marking its second day of trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange after debuting yesterday with an intraday surge of over 18%. As of the time of writing, the stock was up 5.86% to HK$36.5, with turnover reaching HK$480 million.

LIGENT is a leading domestic supplier of optical communications and optical connection products, with a product portfolio encompassing optical modules, optical chips, and optical network terminals. According to Frost & Sullivan data, the company held a 4.0% share of global optical module revenue in 2025, ranking fifth among all professional optical module manufacturers worldwide; in China, it commanded a 10.1% market share, placing it third globally among specialized optical module makers.

In the first half of this year, the company generated revenue of RMB 5.393 billion, up 27.9% year-over-year, while net profit reached RMB 661 million, an increase of 29.7% year-over-year. Breaking down the business segments, revenue from data center optical modules within the optical module division totaled RMB 3.745 billion, up 36.6% year-over-year, driven primarily by rising demand for AI and cloud computing-related applications, which boosted sales volumes in both Chinese and overseas markets. Telecom optical module revenue stood at RMB 533 million, remaining roughly flat year-over-year; optical network terminal revenue reached RMB 1.030 billion, up 12.3% year-over-year; and optical chip revenue came in at RMB 85 million, posting a substantial increase of 424.6% year-over-year.
