The 2026 (Nineteenth) Beijing International Automotive Exhibition recently concluded at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Pavilion) and the Capital International Convention and Exhibition Center. This global automotive event not only showcased the latest cutting-edge achievements in the industry but also drew attention to its host location—Beijing's Shunyi District.
The exhibition brought together nearly a thousand automotive companies from 21 countries and regions, attracting a cumulative total of 1.28 million visitors, making it the world's largest automotive industry gathering. With the goal of building a "Convention-Friendly City," Shunyi District coordinated resources across the region to provide comprehensive service support, ensuring the smooth execution of the event.
Leveraging the exhibition platform, Shunyi District established a cultural tourism exhibition area themed "Fragrant Season" and organized activities around the "Wheels of Time Festival." This initiative integrated surrounding markets, commercial districts, and park resources, expanding dining and consumer service scenarios to deepen the integration between the exhibition and regional consumption.
Behind the automotive exhibition lies not only a test of urban service capabilities but also a concentrated reflection of industrial foundations. One out of every three cars produced in Beijing is "Made in Shunyi." As a hub for Beijing's high-end manufacturing, Shunyi District's automotive industry, after over two decades of development, has transformed from a traditional vehicle manufacturing base into a modern industrial highland centered on intelligent connectivity and new energy.

In an era where industrial competition hinges on ecosystem strength, relying solely on vehicle manufacturing is insufficient for sustained leadership. Using the exhibition as a medium, Shunyi District is transforming exhibition traffic into industrial growth. At the A3 Hall of this year's exhibition, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Technology Ecological Port theme exhibition area stood out.
The exhibition area, centered on the themes of "Co-building a Vehicle, Co-constructing a Road, and Sharing an Ecosystem," showcased the developmental journey of Beijing's Shunyi, Tianjin's Wuqing, and Hebei's Langfang through electronic sand tables, curved giant screens, and interactive experiences. Exhibits from over a hundred exhibitors, ranging from battery cell products and intelligent control systems to chassis components and supporting equipment, allowed visitors to experience the completeness and collaborative capabilities of the regional industrial chain firsthand.
The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Technology Ecological Port is a joint initiative by the three regions, covering parks in Shunyi (Beijing), Wuqing (Tianjin), and Langfang (Hebei). Adhering to the principles of "unified planning, coordinated investment attraction, and separate management," the three regions aim to create a centralized platform for the automotive components industry and build a supply chain guarantee base for intelligent connected new energy vehicles radiating across northern China.
The Ecological Port (Shunyi Park), with a total planned area of approximately 2500 acres, is located in Shunyi District's Lisui Town. The park focuses on three key areas: automotive electronics, automotive intelligence, and automotive quality. It integrates functions such as R&D innovation, intelligent production, business services, and living facilities to build a new industrial ecosystem that deeply integrates "R&D—Production—Testing—Living."
Sun Yan, Deputy Mayor of Lisui Town, Shunyi District, explained that upon completion, the Ecological Port will form a "30-minute supporting circle" with the four major vehicle manufacturing bases in Shunyi District, a "1-hour supporting circle" with other vehicle manufacturing bases in Beijing, and a "2 to 3-hour supporting circle" with industrial bases in Tianjin and Hebei. Core components will be capable of same-day ordering, instant response, and on-demand delivery.
Where the industry extends, urban functions follow. Centered on industrial development, Lisui Town is simultaneously advancing the construction of an "Automotive Ecological Town," systematically enhancing commercial, cultural, sports, educational, housing, medical, and environmental dimensions to promote a development model of "industry driving urban growth, urban development promoting industry, and ecology empowering progress."
Jiang Guangzhi, Party Secretary and Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, stated that in 2025, significant achievements were made in the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei automotive industry: industrial scale reached new heights, with vehicle production exceeding 3 million units and total industrial scale surpassing one trillion yuan; the industrial chain ecosystem continued to optimize, with accelerated agglomeration of vehicle and key component enterprises; and industrial carriers accelerated construction, with the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Technology Ecological Port commencing operations.
In the future, the Ecological Ports in Shunyi, Wuqing, and Langfang will serve as core carriers, strengthening vehicle-driven growth, gathering component enterprises, optimizing the industrial ecosystem, and jointly promoting the high-quality development of the regional automotive industry.
From "hosting a successful exhibition" to "strengthening an industrial chain" and "coordinating a region," Shunyi is leveraging the automotive industry as a fulcrum to unlock broader high-quality development opportunities.
